What are “document fonts”?<\/span><\/h3>

That is a <\/span>feature<\/span> in InDesign, <\/span>introduced by Adobe ages ago<\/span>. <\/span>All fonts<\/b>in a <\/span>folder named “Document fonts”<\/b> next to the InDesign document are available in the document! <\/span> <\/p>

The advantage is that you don’t have to keep all<\/b> the fonts available in the system for every<\/b> project!<\/p>

This feature is known as the “Pack” command. It collects not only the InDesign document and the linked images, but also the necessary fonts. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t

Setup is very easy.<\/p>

If you want to use this feature, you’ll need to turn it on using the slider.<\/p>

There are two modes: Active List<\/i> or Block List<\/i>. <\/p>

“Active list” means that the script collects the “document fonts” from the files listed in the path list below, but not from <\/b>documents that are not<\/b> located in those paths.<\/p>

“Block list” means that the “Document Fonts” are collected for all<\/b> documents except those listed in the path list. Clear?<\/i><\/p>

Clicking the button with the plus sign opens a dialog box where you can define the paths. The “document fonts” from the InDesign files located in these paths are then collected<\/i> (Active List). <\/i>or not collected<\/i> (block list).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

This happens when a font is not active. In that case, the script obviously cannot place the font in the \"Document fonts\" folder. And because the font is missing, the font family name cannot be read and displayed. <\/p>\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n\n \n
